On Monday 2 April, Secretary of State Donner and State Secretary of Employment and Social Services Aboutaleb paid a working visit to the Study and Work Project 'Droogdok for innovation' at the former RDM site in Heijplaat. The large factory hall is being converted to offer places to students who want to follow dual courses. Rotterdam University, Albeda College and various businesses will be collaborating to offer educational courses which combine study, work and innovation. The schools and employers hope that this will encourage more young people to embark on technology courses and ease the transition from middle to higher vocational training.
