Strengthening both port and city

Building a future: that's what's happening in the CityPorts area. Rotterdam City Council and the Port of Rotterdam are working together with investors to create an extraordinary combination of innovative living and working areas here in the next 20 to 40 years. The objectives of the development strategy are to strengthen the economy and international status of the port, the city, the region and the Randstad (West Holland conurbation). Each of the four districts within the CityPorts area has its own individual character and development programme.

The new terms of agreement drawn up between the City Council and the Port of Rotterdam for the redevelopment of the CityPorts area are explained in the implementation programme.

The implementation programme describes the development plans for the whole area, as well as specific information about each of the districts.
